Official recognition in Canada

"In 2023 the Canadian Federation of Mental Health Nurses (CFMHN) acknowledged Mental Health Nurses Day for the first time after inspiration from the UK nurses’ group who founded the day.  

"At CFMHN we aim to learn, grow, and unite as mental health nurses across the country and the globe, this day being an opportunity to do just that.  

"After celebrating our first annual Canadian Mental Health Nurses Day we wrote to the Canadian Government who have added it as an official health promotion day for 2024.  The CFMHN have also developed a half day conference to acknowledge the resiliency of our nurses and find ways to promote wellness.  

"We want to thank the UK nurses who started this day and wish all the Mental Health Nurses across the world a Happy Mental Health Nurses on Feb. 21."
